Strawberries

This August, we took a trip to the McNitt Nursery in Illinois to get some information on the "how to's" of growing strawberries. After spending four hours with the McNitts, we left with 16,000 plants ordered, consisting of 3 different varieties; Fenecia, Camarosa and Chandler. On September 11th and 12th we set each plant by hand on beds of plastic. If all goes as planned, we hope to have strawberries by the third week of April. This year, all of our berries will be pre-picked, however if there's interest we might start doing U-PICK next year. We'd love to hear some feedback, let us know if you'd be interested in purchasing some farm fresh berries!

  1. I definitely want some of your strawberries! They're my favorite fruit. I see a road trip to western Kentucky this spring!
